We headed over for a quick break to check out Sliders wake park in El-Gouna, Egypt We've been around the world to wakeparks to get away from the UK winter seasons where we really would rather not be shredding in the seriously cold conditions - so we decided this winter to get the team a break away from the UK and head over to El-Gouna, Egypt to the new Sliders wake park that opened recently - lets just say it was a good excuse to do some board testing in warmer climates..... The facilities as you could expect were second to none, all brand new and well set out - the two cables are nicely lined with a selection of sliders and kickers, and the team running the cable are super friendly and encouraging to all the riders there....... The new cable is well worth a visit and when you think you can pick up a crazy cheap trip to Egypt these days with a 4 hour flight time and all inclusive, its hard to think of excuses why not to sneak away for a week or ten days for some riding...... Only down sides perhaps were that whipped across in the afternoons from the sea - they say theres a barrier going up that will help, but our advice is get there at opening for totally flat riding conditions - secondly, renting kit there costs a hell of a lot.... I think we should send the guys some boards so they can perhaps reduce the costs - new shredders will be put off by the price....... but overall a great riding spot....
